This feels right to me based on my own experiences (around university time rather than in adolescence).

Going off at a slight tangent, since realising I was autistic about ten years ago, I have adopted a strategy of trying to play to my strengths while patching up my weaknesses as best I can and this combined approach has helped me move forward a lot.
