We are inviting military families with a child with ASD to participate in interviews about their experiences before and after ASD diagnosis. Through these one-on-one interviews we want to learn about the challenges military families face when obtaining diagnosis and intervention for their child with ASD.

Who will participate in the interviews?

People who want to participate must be:
• a parent/caregiver of a child with ASD whose child is between the ages of 6-12 and has had a diagnosis of ASD for at least 1 year,
• a parent/caregiver who has lived with the family since the child with ASD was 1 year of age.
• the spouse or partner of an active duty service member of the Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy, or Coast Guard,
• at least 18 years old,
• fluent in English

How will participants be involved in the study?

Participants will take part in a 2 hour-long interview. This interview will take place via online social media (e.g., Skype, Facetime). The interview will be conducted by a researcher who has experience with parents of individuals with ASD and with using interviews for research purposes.
