This is totally sad. They killed this man for his social security checks and
food stamps.
The news reported in the state newspapers the past couple months had been he
had wandered off.
It played right into the belief this guy was retarded and didn't know any
better. As far as the general reading public
was concerned, that made perfect sense. He had Asperger's Syndrome.
He was just like that Rain Man guy in the movie. A quote in today's news
reports him as
"a developmentally disabled Mazomanie man ... who had Asperger's syndrome."

We know better. Anyone one of us can be tortured and killed. Having
Asperger's Syndrome had nothing to do with it.
That wasn't reported in the news stories then and it isn't being reported
now. People are ignorant when it comes to
knowing anything at all about autism. That is understandable. Having the
media reinforce this ignorance is unacceptable.

Matthew Graville had been missing four months. Mazomanie Wisconsin isn't New
York city. I find it hard to believe
law enforcement encountered such difficulty locating him. Par for the
course these days. It is a miracle to find missing
persons alive.

I would say more so that they killed this man due to lack of understanding and sociopathic tendancies...I mean really, the type of person who could abuse, much less torture and then kill and then steal from a special needs person, that would be my definition of sociopath. I can't imagine that they felt any guilt, as it's my understanding that they didn't come forward themselves. Have you done any further reading on this, I just searched all over when I read your post and the Step-Mother's attorney had the nerve to request that her $100,000 bail be reduced as it was "harsh and excessive", and what they did to this poor man wasn't?? Sometimes I really don't like people.

As far as the law enforcement goes, I think that considering they were watching the family memebers and tracking transactions made through Matthew's banking and state funding accounts, that they were doing what they could to locate him. He was buried 5ft deep on some land in the boonies...so the odds of them finding his body without a tip from someone was very slim.

What I do find to be concerning is that ,although Matthew was listed as a "risk" when reported missing, there are no other standards in place when people over eighteen with mental concerns are reported missing and you are right, the initial assumption probably was that he just wandered off, which is just sad in and of itself.
